1. Tales of the Red Thread

Widower and single father, Martin Bohm, is frustrated because he is unable to communicate with his mute and autistic son, Jake. After consulting with experts, Martin learns Jake is a genius and has special gifts, and he communicates with numbers rather than with words.

2. 1+1=3

Martin is challenged to follow the links after a robbery in a pawn shop triggers events that connect a frantic flight attendant in New York, a son from India who wants to spread his father’s ashes, a magician in a middle school in Moscow, a patient with cancer in New York, and a mobster in the Bronx.

3. Safety in Numbers

Martin encounters a homeless man who has the same obsession with numbers as Jake does, which begins a series of seemingly unrelated events that connect an abused African woman, a group of African boys in a dance competition, and an extroverted woman at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California. Meanwhile, Arthur Teller visits Jake’s boarding facility, which has an impact on Clea emotion- ally.

4. Kite Strings

Martin encounters a young man who knew Sarah, his deceased wife. A couple that manages an online instrument repair business works with an Iraqi heavy metal band that has a teenage follower who is looking to share his comedic talent with an American soldier in Baghdad. However, the soldier’s convoy is ambushed, which forces her to hide in the Iraqi desert. Meanwhile, a lottery winner meets a pastor who is depressed.

5. Entanglement

Martin gets his laptop stolen on the day Jake is scheduled for an important evaluation. As a result, he becomes ensnared in a young Salvadoran woman’s quest to avenge the death of her family. Meanwhile, Teller tries to reconnect with his estranged daughter. Also, a spirited Saudi Arabian girl tries to break free of the societal constraints imposed on her and a Montreal doctor attempts to meet a stranger on a train

6. Lost and Found

Teller’s visit with Jake at the board-and-care facility may lead to trouble. Meanwhile, Martin and Clea learn surprising information about Clea’s mentally challenged mother; a survivor of a plane crash finds a new perspective on his existence; and a Chinese couple struggle with their personal and professional lives.

7. Noosphere Rising

Martin attempts to find Teller’s mysterious workshop and winds up aiding another professor, Logan, to win big at poker. Meanwhile, a young Italian man creates a viral video to track down the love of his life, whom he only met in passing, and a city slicker who plans to sell off his dead father’s ranch, winds up learning a lesson from a horse that makes him appreciate the rural life his father chose. Then, Martin’s sister-in-law, Abigail Kelsey, visits Clea and Jake at the board-and-care facility, much to Martin’s dismay
