Jonny Lee Miller, the man who is playing Sherlock in the American Holmes show Elementary, has insisted the show will be different enough to the BBC’s hit interpretation.

Speaking to Vulture, he explained: “You obviously you look at it and say, “Wait a second … ” But I feel there’s enough differences there. I thought I could do something with it; otherwise, there’d be no point.”

Although, a quick look at the set pics shows some rather obvious similarities already (above).

He gave an update on the status of the show: “We just shot the pilot. We’re still waiting to hear what happens with it. We’re not sure yet; we’re taking it slowly. But it was just a great project. And a good opportunity for me. So that’s the way you weigh those things.”

Elementary takes Sherlock out of London and into New York where he meets a female Watson played by Lucy Liu.
