Sherlock: Series 2 Hints
Steven Moffat has dropped some hints on what we can expect in Series 2 of Sherlock.
Moffat told the Guardian: “You can have three words to work from, Adler, Hound, Reichenbach. Those are your clues.”
After a little detective work of our own, here’s what we’ve got.
Adler – Irene Adler was a character in the Sherlock Holmes novel “A Scandal in Bohemia” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. She was one of the few characters to actually outwit Sherlock and earn his admiration.
Hound – This is almost certainly a reference to the most famous Sherlock story of them all – “The Hound of the Baskervilles”. The original plot saw Holmes and Watson heading to the moorland to investigate the mystery of a phantom hound.
Reichenbach – In the novel “The Final Problem”, Reichenbach falls was the location where Sherlock Holmes met his end. Holmes fought his arch-nemesis Professor Moriarty above the falls and both supposedly fell to their deaths. Although later revelations proved otherwise.
So if all this is to come in the second series, we’re certainly in for some exciting stories.
Sherlock returns to the BBC in the Autumn.
