Misfits is to lose another original cast member. It has been announced that Lauren Socha will not be reprising her role as Kelly in the upcoming fourth series.

A statement from production company Clerkenwell Films reads: “A mutual decision was reached between Clerkenwell and Lauren earlier this year that she would not be returning for the fourth series.”

“Misfits has been in production for a number of weeks now and Lauren is not part of the lineup.”

Earlier in the week, it was reported that Socha was convicted to four months in jail for racially-aggravated assault, however Clerkenwell claims the decision was made earlier in the year.

A spokesperson told Digital Spy: “Clerkenwell Films and Lauren Socha agreed some time ago that along with other cast members, including Iwan Rheon and Antonia Thomas, she would not be returning for the fourth series of Misfits, which is currently in production. Channel 4 supports both parties’ decisions.”

The news means Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Curtis) is the only cast member remaining from the original line-up. Several new characters were revealed back in March.
