Comedian, actor and presenter Stephen Fry and Pointless star Richard Osman are set to join the voice cast of the eagerly awaited new animated series of Danger Mouse, currently in production to air on CBBC next year. Fry is set to flex his vocal chords to play croquet-loving chinchilla Colonel K, while Richard Osman is reunited with his Pointless pal Alexander Armstrong, to play genius jellyfish Professor Strontium Jellyfishowitz.

Stephen Fry will lend his mellifluous tones to Colonel K, an elderly chinchilla and the unflappable rock at the heart of the British Secret Service. Danger Mouse and Penfold’s boss, he is also known as the World’s dirtiest croquet player and Chairman of the Willesden Green Amateur Flower Arranging and Operatic Society. Appearing in almost every episode, nearly always on a screen or in hologram form, the Colonel has acres of secret agent experience but sometimes has trouble with perspective. The world may be on the edge of oblivion, but if the office is out of biscuits, then that’s a real crisis.

Meanwhile Pointless creator and presenter Richard Osman plays Professor Strontium P Jellyfishowitz, the leader of all scientists on earth. A jellyfish in a motorised fish tank he has no face but wears a pair of half-eye glasses on the front of his tank. He’s incredibly clever and also quite handy when it comes to a fight with his stinging tentacles.

Talking about his new role Osman says: “As a lifelong fan of the show and a slightly more recent fan of Alexander Armstrong I could not be more delighted to be playing my own small part in this incredible new version of Danger Mouse.”

Also joining the cast are Ed Gaughan who will be voicing amphibious villain Baron Greenback and Kayvan Novak (Cuban Fury, FaceJacker) who will bring to life a variety of different characters across the series.

The new cast members will appear alongside Alexander Armstrong, who stars as the voice of the world’s most famous rodent spy Danger Mouse; and Kevin Eldon who channels his inner hamster as Danger Mouse’s trusty sidekick Penfold.

Licensed to thrill a whole new generation of fans, this reimagined new series follows the misadventures of the heroic, small but perfectly formed white rodent Danger Mouse who returns in style to save a world teetering on the edge of disaster. Bursting with boundless confidence the show’s hero is still as cool as ever as he attempts to overthrow a host of villainous rivals with the help of hapless hamster Penfold and a collection of state of the art gadgetry and vehicles.
