Hannah Spearritt has offered some encouraging words on the future of Primeval and her role as Abby.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Spearritt hinted that the show could still return and Series 6 may still happen:

“It’s been known to come back from the dead before,” she said. “It’s such a fun show to work on. We will have to wait and see.”

Back in June, Primeval co-creator Adrian Hodges said he would like the show to go on, but it is dependent on how well Series 5 does on ITV when it airs early 2012.

Last week, a new US spin-off called Primeval: New Order was announced for 2012. It will not be a continuation of the original series.
