AMC has announced that The Walking Dead’s second season will premiere in the US with a 90-minute opener, airing at 9PM ET on Sunday October 16.The next six one-hour episodes will follow in the weeks after.

Undead fans will have to wait for the final six episodes though, as the show will take a Christmas break to return Sunday February 12 at 9PM ET.

The show returns to the UK in October on FX.
