The Musketeers: Capaldi’s Series 2 Exit Revealed
Tom Burke, Athos in The Musketeers, has revealed how Peter Capaldi’s Cardinal will be written out, given his filming commitments to Doctor Who.
Some may consider this a spoiler so read with caution.
Burke explained to the Radio Times that the Cardinal will have been killed off screen: “Come the next series the Cardinal will be dead. He’ll just be gone.”
“We’re all like, ‘Where’s the Cardinal? Oh he’s dead.'”
“It’s a great example of economic storytelling. Their new nemesis will be Rochefort, who’s played by Marc Warren.”
