By Patrick Kavanagh-Sproull.

It’s week three of Broadchurch and we have been bombarded by countless questions and hints. DI Alec Hardy and DS Ellie Miller are on the case and new suspects crop up all the time but only one of them is the true perpetrator. We ask, who do you think did it? We’ve narrowed down the lengthy cast list to the people we think are most likely to have committed the crime. In no particular order:

Mark Latimer (Andrew Buchan).
Father of the slewed child, Mark seems like an unlikely killer but recently his fingerprints were discovered at the scene of the crime. Could he have butchered his own boy?

Reverend Paul Coates (Arthur Darvill).
Being a respected (but new) clergyman, Paul wouldn’t commit such a foul deed, unless he had other motivations. Would a man of the cloth sin so badly?

Susan Wright (Pauline Quirke).
Distant loner, Susan and her dog keep to the sidelines of the investigation, watching the dramatic events unfold. However she has Danny’s missing skateboard, and this implicates her heavily. Did she slaughter young Danny?

Tom Miller (Adam Wilson).
A childhood friend of the deceased, Tom sorely reacted after his best pal’s death. When he was told, he hurriedly deleted the contents of his laptop and all recent messages with Danny, a panicked reaction or wiping evidence?

DI Alec Hardy (David Tennant).
The lead investigator into the child’s murder, DI Alec Hardy strikes us as an improbable psycho but his hatred of Broadchurch and poor health could equal death?

Beth Latimer (Jodie Whittaker).
Grieving mother-of-the-dead Beth is probably the last person to have killed her son, as her reactions are so genuine, you feel true pity for her. Unless she’s a good actress, covering for the murder. Maybe it was accidental, or vilely intentional?

Liz Roper (Susan Brown).
Beth’s mother, Liz has tried looking after her family after her grandson died but could all this be a cover? After strange psychic (Will Mellor)’s claim that the murderer is close to Beth, could Liz be the one everyone’s looking for?

Other.
As well as the above-mentioned residents, there are many others who we’ve been introduced to. If who you think did it isn’t in our options, vote here.
